About Fat Cat Data
A quantitative AI consultancy built by people who have spent their careers inside sports decision-making — and who would rather show you working software than a slide deck.
Serious models. Unserious name. On purpose.
Fat Cat Data began with a simple observation from three decades inside sports analytics: the tools front offices need most are rarely the ones vendors sell. Every organization's questions are shaped by its own data, its own scouts, its own budget rhythms, and its own appetite for risk. Off-the-shelf platforms flatten those differences; internal builds die in backlog. The gap in the middle — bespoke decision tools, built fast by people fluent in both the science and the sport — is where we work.
We build proof-of-concept and MVP software for college and professional sports organizations, with a specialty we call Quantitative AI: deterministic statistical models doing the measuring, agentic AI doing the explaining, and every claim tied to its evidence. Our sample builds span the full player lifecycle and the operation around it — draft boards, contract valuation, advance scouting intelligence, scouting operations, staff evaluation — and each one started exactly the way your project would: someone described a tool they wished existed.
High-fidelity flat vector product mockup in enterprise SaaS marketing style: four application windows in a row showing evolution left to right — first a rough wireframe sketch window with loose pencil-like marks, second a basic grid window, third a structured board window, fourth a polished ranked-board window with avatar circles, stat bars, and one row highlighted in royal blue (#004cce) — thin arrows between stages. Soft pale gray (#f3f6fa) page background; white (#ffffff) windows with thin (#e3e9f1) hairline borders and very subtle drop shadows; charcoal (#16212e) primary marks; slate (#5d6b7b) secondary marks. All text as greeked placeholder bars — no legible words, letters, or numbers. Crisp straight-on geometry, generous spacing, modern and corporate, no people, no photographs The name? Analytics has enough self-importance. "Fat Cat" is easy to remember, hard to confuse, and keeps us honest about which part of the work is serious: the mathematics, not the branding. The cat is drawn out of bar charts for a reason.
The mission
Fat Cat Data is a quantitative AI consultancy for college and professional sports organizations. We design and build proof-of-concept and MVP decision tools — priced per project, delivered as working software you own.
Four people, one operating principle: ship the tool
Fat Cat Data is founder-led and deliberately small. The people who scope your project are the people who build it.
Professional corporate headshot portrait placeholder style: a confident executive photographed against a plain light gray (#f3f6fa) studio background, soft even lighting, business casual attire, square crop, shallow depth of field, editorial corporate photography, calm and approachable Garfield Fisher
Chief Executive OfficerGarfield has spent more than three decades in data science and sports analytics, including years building advanced player-evaluation frameworks inside Major League Baseball front offices. He is the creator of the Fat Cat Platform and the architect of the firm's Quantitative AI practice — the standard that the model produces every number, and the AI explains it.

Chief Financial OfficerCarmen leads the firm's financial operations and the per-project pricing model at the heart of every engagement. She structures scopes so clients know the full cost of a build before it starts, and keeps the firm's no-subscription economics disciplined and sustainable.

Chief Operating OfficerShambhavi runs delivery: engagement scoping, project cadence, and the handoff discipline that ends every build with documentation, training, and a clean transfer of ownership. She is the reason a Fat Cat project feels the same on its last day as it sounded on its first.

Chief Technology OfficerMoses owns the engineering standard behind every build: private cloud deployments, automated nightly data pipelines, closed-loop architectures for sensitive work, and the security posture that lets clubs trust the tools with their most guarded information.
Small by design
We take a limited number of engagements at a time, and founders do the work. That's not a capacity apology — it's the point. Bespoke decision tools fail when they're built by rotating staff at arm's length from the sport. Ours are built in direct conversation with the people who will use them, by the people whose names are on the firm.
If the fit is right, an engagement starts with one meeting and a scope document. Describe your project and we'll take it from there.
